Pepper production has developed significantly in the last few decades. The crucial role in the expansion of this production was played by domestic and international demand, the development of refrigeration devices and the processing industry. About 75% of the entire paprika production in Vojvodina is produced in Gospodjinci and Rusko Krstur, and other villages are starting to “wake up”.
Paprika is mostly used processed in our country, although it is completely clear that heat treatment and grinding destroy all its medicinal properties and that prepared in this way only satisfies our taste buds and the desire for spicy food.
Pepper production depends on many factors, therefore it is extremely important to do all the recommended measures that ensure normal growth and development – from timely and proper soil preparation, variety selection, timely protection, right up to proper irrigation with the application of appropriate foliar fertilizers. Pepper is a big consumer of water and lack of water is always a limiting factor for production. It requires ideal soil preparation, from basic tillage to pre-sowing preparation. According to literature data, with 10 t/ha of pepper fruit, it amounts to 40-60 kg of nitrogen, 20-30 kg of phosphorus and 50-80 kg of potassium, which counts it among the calliophilic plants.
Many producers use manure, because peppers respond well to its application. We recommend BioFert Green chicken manure with a formulation of 4:3:3, 100% organic origin. After sowing the peppers, it is recommended that the peppers be watered through the drip system, with clean water until germination, where we must pay the most attention to the appearance of diseases, especially bacteriosis, which is the biggest problem in pepper production.
The company Agromarket for pepper nutrition has in its portfolio the fertilizer FitoFert Kristal Peppers with a balanced ratio of macroelements, as well as secondary magnesium, which we recommend from the flowering stage and the first fruits, as well as during harvesting through the drop-by-drop system in combination with other FitoFert fertilizers, depending on the need, weather conditions and the condition of the plant. In addition to the water-soluble fertilizers used in the production of peppers, we must not forget the foliar fertilizers in order to have a complete crop nutrition, and then a quantitative and qualitative yield.
